CHIHUAHUA: A toy dog named for the Mexican state of Chihuahua and is the smallest of all breeds.
BREED PERSONALITY
Chihuahuas are tiny but confident dogs who love to give and receive attention. Despite their size, they’re often fearless, alert, and protective, making them excellent watchdogs. Chihuahuas are intelligent and form strong bonds with their owners, sometimes developing a preference for one person. They typically weigh between 2 to 6 pounds and have a lifespan of around 12 to 20 years with proper care.
BREED OWNER
The prim Chihuahua dog needs an owner who is respectful of their space and tiny, fragile bodies, so if they are going to be in homes with children, they need to be taught how to interact with them. Because they are so small, cold weather is not their favorite, so take care to provide them with warm jackets and sweaters during the cold months. Chihuahuas need regular exercise and mental stimulation. Smooth-coated Chihuahuas need little more than basic grooming because of their short hair.
