BREED PERSONALITY
Dachshunds are smart, playful, devoted and can be stubborn. Despite their small size, they can be very protective and make excellent watchdogs, and they bark loudly!!! The Dachshund Shorthair, commonly known as the Smooth-Haired Dachshund, is a playful and lively breed characterized by its long body and short legs. Originally bred in Germany for hunting small game, these dogs have a distinct appearance and a strong sense of curiosity.
BREED OWNER
Dachshunds have a high prey drive which makes them a huge fan of digging. They are prone to obesity so should get regular daily exercise being a few 15 minute walks per day. Longhaired Dachshunds need daily brushing and shorthaired have a higher shedding rate.
