BREED PERSONALITY

Tibetan terriers were originally raised as companions for Buddhist monks who also made incredible guard dogs. Today, with their loving  and laid-back personalities, these dogs have become popular as family pets. In general, Tibetan terriers get along well with other dogs and can live nicely with cats. They can tend be wary around strangers, so early socialization is important. Because Tibetan terriers love company and affection, this breed is best suited to having someone around most of the day. Tibetan terriers also make wonderful therapy dogs.

BREED OWNER 

Typically, Tibetan terriers have a calm presence inside the home, but they're also happy to play and exercise with their family when opportunity arises. Barking is common for the Tibetan terrier, so owners should be prepared for a vocal dog! While owners for this breed can be generally low-energy, they do still enjoy a few small walks a day. Their large feet and thick coat provide plenty of warmth and traction if it's snowy outside.
